Get free one-to-one writing support from Royal Literary Fund Fellows
body
Students at the University of West London can access free, personalised, one-to-one writing support from the University’s Royal Literary Fund (RLF) Fellows. The Royal Literary Fund is a charity that matches universities with authors who help students to develop their writing skills across all levels and disciplines.
Children’s book author, Becca Heddle, is one of three RLF Fellows working at UWL. Becca works with a range of students at UWL’s Reading campus, Fountain House, helping them with writing skills such as editing their work to make their meaning clear, and advising them on things like grammar and punctuation.
She also works with students to develop useful study skills to develop their arguments and logically structure their essays.
Becca’s role as an independent adviser means that students can come to her for confidential support freely and without judgement. As Becca said,
not being an expert in my students’ subjects is functionally extremely useful – we are free to focus on the communication side and I can help with things like writing coherently and nailing the word count.”
Other forms of study support offered by the University include English Language Support and Grammar for Academic English Workshops. To arrange a confidential appointment with Becca, or either of UWL’s RLF Fellows in London, get in touch via Study support | University of West London (uwl.ac.uk).
