UWL No. 2 modern* university in London** in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025

In the latest The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025 published today, the University of West London is ranked the No. 2 modern* university in London** and No. 10 out of all London universities. We are in the top 60 universities nationally out of a total of 134 universities.

Speaking about the latest results, Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter John CBE said,
The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025 is one of the most rigorous, longest established and prestigious of the national league tables, so we are always pleased to maintain a strong performance in these tables.
We will continue to focus all our energy on delivering the best possible student experience so that our students can thrive and achieve the success they deserve.”
Last week, UWL was ranked No. 30 in the UK, No. 1 Modern* university in London** and No. 3 modern university in the UK in The Guardian University Guide.
In July, UWL was ranked 1st in London, 6th in England and top 10 in the UK (excluding specialist providers) in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2024.
The Times & The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025 is published online today and as a 96-page supplement with The Sunday Times this weekend. It provides the definitive rankings for UK universities and the most comprehensive overview of higher education in Britain. The list is based on an analysis of student satisfaction with teaching quality and their student experience, entry standards, research quality, sustainability and graduate prospects.
New to the Guide this year is a percentage score and ranking from the UK’s largest student campaigning network People & Planet, which assesses the environmental and ethical standards of each UK university.
In the 2023/24 People and Planet’s league table, UWL is a first class university, ranked 13th in the UK, the 9th modern university and the 4th in London.
Also new this year were guides on scholarships and bursaries available at each university and student wellbeing and sports facilities on campus.
