Student attendance

Attendance card reader

As a UWL student you must record your class attendance using the SEAtS system. Card readers are located in all of the timetabled teaching rooms and lecture theatres, and you are required to 'touch in' with your UWL Student ID Card at the start of each scheduled teaching session on your timetable.

The University will use the data provided by SEAtS software to monitor student attendance.

If you forget your card, it’s important to ask the lecturer to mark you as present at the end of the lecture.

Please note that it is very important for you to attend the lectures, workshops and seminars that have been allocated on your timetable. You will not be permitted to move between class groups as you are required to touch in at every allocated scheduled teaching session to record your attendance. If you attend the wrong class group you will be recorded absent for that session.

For more information on SEAtS and touching into class see Section 1.9.5 of the Student Handbook.
