John Charlton, Head of Knowledge Exchange and Business Engagement, said:
Being shortlisted for Business Enabler of the Year recognises UWL as an effective organisation empowering businesses to thrive through innovative solutions, impactful partnerships, and quality support services.
Our geographical focus is on West London, which boasts an economy larger than those of Birmingham, Glasgow and Leeds combined, so to be shortlisted in such an active region is a wonderful reflection of the impact UWL schools and services deliver. Our offer for business reflects the diverse needs of our business communities, enabling entrepreneurs, recruitment, research projects, student-led initiatives, volunteering, and much more.”
Janet Rowson, Director of Degree Apprenticeships said:
We are delighted with the nomination for Education and Training Provider of the Year and to be able to share the inspiring story of how UWL’s Degree Apprenticeship Service has developed
We have been working steadily with many west London businesses over the years, who have been incredibly supportive in engaging with us. They have seen the benefits to their businesses and UWL has also been enriched by their contribution. I look forward to more of these partnerships.”
Kyle Allen, Head of Business Services, said:
West London has a very competitive events and hospitality industry, from a wide range of hotels, conference centres to stadiums including Twickenham.
This nomination for Best Business for Hospitality and Leisure demonstrates the hard work that the West London Venues team have put in over the years to stand out among this large crowd of businesses. Buyers in this industry are quickly becoming aware that universities can offer a range of unique spaces for their events that traditional venues cannot, while not only saving money but knowing that the money they spend is reinvested into the university to benefit current and future students. From business conferences, award ceremonies, gala dinners and even hiring out the campus as a film location, there are a wide range of spaces and opportunities available to event planners.”
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford on 21 November. Good luck!
