The event is organised by TechSkills, who are the accreditors of the ITMB and apprenticeship programmes, and brings together students from universities across the UK for a day of challenges and activities.

UWL Level 5 students Midhun Sudheer Bose and Sthiti Pragyan Panda won the Tech Titans Business Proposals award, which asked students to present business ideas based on using technologies including drones.

Their idea - called SOAR, which stands for Surveillance Observation Aerial Response - uses drones on the university campus not only for security surveillance but also for monitoring and supporting student wellbeing. Additionally, Sthiti won the Impactful Personality award, recognising the leadership and motivational skills he demonstrated during the event.

The judges were very impressed with our students,”

said Dr Hafiz Sherazi, who is Programme Leader for the BSc in ITMB.

I was proud of their exceptional performances, and I hope they continue to demonstrate the same zeal and creativity at future events.”
