Lecturer in Adult Nursing and Nursing Associate
College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare

I am a lecturer in Adult Nursing and Nursing Associate. I trained as a nurse at the University of Virginia in the US and started my career in the Paediatric Intensive Care at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. I obtained my Masters degree in Nursing in 2008 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was certified as an Advanced Practice Family Nurse Practitioner. I’ve worked in that capacity in several primary care settings including the University Student Health Centre in addition to teaching in the School of Nursing at UNC.

I moved with my family to London in 2022 and since starting at UWL have completed my PG Certification in Professional Academic Practice and obtained Advance HE Fellowship. I teach across a range of courses and modules, including the Nursing Associate Apprenticeship Program and Advanced Health Assessment for CPD in addition to leading the Art & Science module for BNurs students.

I enjoy working with students to help them become more confident and overcome barriers as they pursue their careers in nursing. I have a special interest in wellbeing in the academic setting and lead the CNMH Staff Wellbeing team.
