Dwight studied conducting at undergraduate level with Peter Stark and Gregory Rose. He  completed his Master’s degree in Conducting at London College of Music under Adrian Brown. In addition,  he studied with Holly Mathieson and Jessica Cottis. He is equally at home with Orchestral,  Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Choral repertoire, and has ensembles covering all those genres.

As a PhD student his research is focussed on the music of African American Composers and how conductors use interpretation and gesture to realise those works. Dwight is also a professional horn player with the Royal Corps of Army Music as well as having a busy  freelance career. Currently serving with the Band of the Grenadier Guards in London. He has regularly performed ceremonial music for state events including Trooping the Colour, the State Opening of Parliament, the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of 2012, and the Olympics. He has also represented the UK abroad performing in Canada, Russia, Jordan, Germany, France, Belgium and America. As a freelance he has performed with the RPO and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, New London Orchestra and the Bath Philharmonia and the BAME orchestra Chineke! appearing at the BBC Proms and recording with them.
