Jim Hawkins

Lecturer in Politics and International Relations
School of Human and Social Sciences

I completed a BA in Humanities at the University of Surrey, an MSc in International Relations at Kingston University and a PhD in Politics at Goldsmiths College, University of London. I really enjoy teaching Politics and International Relations. I love the whole process, from the initial engagement in a topic and the analysis of an event or a political theme, to the process of political thought and perspective, to investigating and exploring a specific problem, to finally guiding my students towards completing their essays, presentations and reports.

My goal is to incorporate all this into my lessons in order to get my students to reflect, examine and appreciate the complex, multi-layered and endlessly fascinating nature of Politics and International Relations.
