Neil has over 25 years experience in the field of infection prevention and control and public health, including as a nurse consultant at a national level and Executive Director of Infection Prevention and Control of a large teaching NHS trust. Previously President of the Infection Prevention Society (UK and Ireland) and currently Chair of the International Federation of Infection Control (to end 2023) and member of the Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Prescribing, Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infections (APRHAI) to the Department of Health and Social Care (England).
