About the event
The University is hosting The West London Construction Skills Summit at our Ealing site on Wednesday 15 May from 5pm-7pm.
The summit's aim is to ensure collaboration between employers and providers in west London on the various skills and employment challenges we face.
We have several keynote speakers who are currently working on major projects in west London.
Schedule:
- 4:30pm – Registration and welcome reception: Enjoy a selection of teas, coffees and light refreshments upon arrival.
- 5pm – Opening welcome: Delivered by Janet Rowson (Director of Apprenticeships).
- 5:10pm – Opening remarks: By Suresh Gamlath (PVC Business Development).
- 5:15pm – Keynote address: Ambrose Quashie (Skills Manager at HS2 Ltd).
- 5:30pm – Panel discussion and Q&A: With Paul Skitt (Education & Skills Director at P Flannery Plant Hire) and Ambrose Quashie (Skills Manager at HS2 Ltd).
- 5:45pm – Presentation: By Jo Withers (Chief of Business Strategy at Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge Colleges).
- 5:55pm – Talk: On the UWL Skills and Apprenticeship Offer by Janet Rowson (Director of Apprenticeships).
- 6:05pm – Insights: Into UWL's research in construction and the built environment by Dr Phil Cox (Head of the School of Computing & Engineering).
- 6:15pm – Closing remarks and event conclusion: By Janet Rowson (Director of Apprenticeships).
- 6:20pm – Networking reception in the Park space: Join us for a networking reception featuring a canapé-style menu and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow attendees, discuss the day’s insights and engage with the speakers and UWL staff.
- 6:30pm – Optional tours: Sign up for a guided tour of our facilities, including the School of Computing & Engineering and ongoing projects. Tours start shortly after the networking reception and last approximately 30 minutes.
