UWL Nursing students up for national excellence awards

Students Nursing Times Awards

Student nurses and the University have won a string of nominations in this year’s Student Nursing Times Awards.

The awards recognising high-quality education providers which enable students to become outstanding practitioners, include five nominations across four categories for student nurses and UWL, where they study at the College for Nursing, Midwifery and Health (CNMH).

Andrew Haydon has been nominated for ‘Student nurse of the year’ in his final year of studying Adult Nursing. He said: ‘It means a lot to be recognised for putting in hours of hard work. The University has been really supportive and the environment encourages us to push ourselves. Everyone at the College has been really positive and it’s great to be shortlisted.’

Meanwhile, fellow nominee Ewout van Sabben has founded a student society at CNMH, providing a space for undergraduates to take part in social activities together.

The awards take place on 26 April at the London Hilton in Park Lane, central London.
